Where there’s a WILL, there’s a WAY. The Will of Christ is the New Testament. (Heb. 10:9). Jesus said, “This is my blood of the New Testament, which is shed for many.” Mk 14:24 Jesus is the mediator of the New Testament. Heb 9:15 The apostles were the ministers of the New Testament. 2 Cor 3:6 Many have not learned that the first covenant (the law of Moses aka law of God) was replaced by the WILL of Christ.

Where there’s a WILL, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. (Heb. 9:16-17). The word “testament” in this passage carries basically the same idea as covenant, will, law and is often used interchangeably. Thus, the New Testament is the last will and testament of Jesus Christ.

The First and the Second WILL

God took away the first WILL to establish the second WILL by the body of Jesus Christ once for all” (Heb. 10:9-10). Jesus nailed it to the cross at his death. Col 2:14 The first WILL or the law of Moses was identified as our schoolmaster” to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith” and when faith (the gospel) is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster, that is, the law of Moses. If that first WILL had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second” (Heb. 8:7). Christ made the first WILL old, and it vanished away. (Heb. 8:13)

The Purpose of Second Will.

A will contains something to be left or things to bequeath. Luke tells us, “For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:10). The Lord bequeaths salvation on the souls of mankind. In his commission to the apostles, Jesus said,“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned” (Mark 16:15-16).

In a will there must be those called heirs or those who inherit. The Bible is plain and clear on this as Paul wrote the Romans, “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together” (Rom. 8:17).

Conditions of the Second WILL

The conditions of Christ’s WILL requires us to:

1. HEAR the gospel (Matt. 17:5)
2. BELIEVE Jesus is the Christ (John 8:24; Rom. 10:17)
3. CONFESS that Jesus is the Christ (Rom. 10:9-10, Acts 8:36-38)
4. REPENT of their sins Acts 17:30
5. BAPTIZED into Christ (Mark 16:16; Gal. 3:27; Rom. 6:3-4).
6. FAITHFULNESS unto death. (Rev. 2:10)

All of these conditions must be met in order to be an heir of Christ.

The Inheritance of the Second WILL

The saints shall inherit a kingdom prepared from the foundation of the world, and promised before the world began. (Matt. 25:34; Tit. 1:2) Blessed will be all who die in the Lord who do his commandments, whose name is in the Lamb’s Book of Life, for they have right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates of the Holy city, the new Jerusalem . Rev 14:13; Rev 22:14; Rev 21:1,2 The church is the bride of Christ and the one who shall inherit the reward of her husband. As Christians, we are members of the body (church) of Christ and the children of the bride and bridegroom. Rom 8:17 Therefore we are each individual heirs of the Lord’s inheritance if we abide faithful in the Lord. Rev 3:11; Mt 11:22
